Default Removing pcm controls from manual tranny

I have a project to swap a manual into my TA this winter. My question is this. With a manual transmission swap, do I need to get a manual pcm or can I delete the automatic transmission program entirely? Do I need to have some sort of programming for the manual?

you could just flash the m6 program onto the pcm.

then it will be a m6 pcm.

To further clarify what samz28 is saying - the M6 PCM profile will work fine with your Muncie. There's only two outputs in an M6 PCM profile, one for the skip shift and one for the reverse lockout. Error codes for both of these can be turned off with PCM tuning. If you used an A4 PCM profile, you'd have to turn off codes for a dozen or more things.

it was my understanding that the muncie was a vacuum or manual shift type deal. If muncie makes a 4l60E or something plug compatible, well cool beans.

Muncie is a manual gearbox .. a stick shift ... a four-on-the-floor .. might even be an M22 "Rock Crusher"...

I`m also putting a manual box in instead of an auto but am i right in saying that a regular box won`t just bolt on due to different crank flange offset and changes in bellhousing design?

As far as ls1edit....If segment 1 is the same from a like year M6 pcm file, you can flash it into your A4 pcm. Ken Kelly told me this when I changed my 2000 TA from a M6 to an A4. When you open your file in ls1edit, you will see "segment 1 #########"
