Default Need **PICS** of MWC SFC installation points

Weak sauce, I know. But after fiddling with them for a bit thinking I can tell my welder where and how, I admit I'm a bit confused. There seems to be no "locating" point. On the driver's side it looks like my brake / fuel lines will interfere in the front. When I get these welded I want to make sure it's done right the first time.

I distantly remember Eric telling a guy after they were installed he missed a few weld spots (can't find the damned thread)

I will say though, these things are RIDICULOUSLY stout!

Thanks for any help guys!

That's the thread I was thinking of.... No wonder I couldn't find it. I kept searching MWC SFC...

My only question:

Is this gap ok? After trying to "dry fit" mine I noticed they did the same thing. I thought they would fit flush but they didn't

See the gap I'm talking about?

I think they'll be fine - they also weld to the cross brace just above that gap

the gap we meant to be there so all 'tow points' (holes in the frame)would still be able to be accessed, from what i was . also give a full perimiter weld.

Just looked into this SFC, interesting piece. Their placement seems to make sense, I think I may be getting one from MWC instead. I wonder why no one else thought to make them that way. Why does it say off road use only, though?

I would just add a small piece of 3/16 plate in the empty spot if it bothers you. Quick and simple solution. Won't take the welder 5 secs to seal it up either.

The "gap" or "empty spot" being referred to in the pics is the end of the factory front subframe. The bracket we have attached to the front of the connector has over 12" of weld surface and the small open space left at this point will make no difference in the performance of the component. If it would make someone feel better that it gets closed up then it won't hurt either.

I still haven't installed mine yet. Finding time isn't the real issue. Finding a welder with a 4-post lift not a drive on lift seems to be a bit of an issue.

What's a reasonable price to pay? Thunder wants 200+ to weld them on.

Just saw that they have a Watts link as well...

Wondering how durable it is, my car is a DD and it looks like I'd have to have the posts for the rod ends welded to the axle?

$200 sounds like way to much to me..maybe 50-80 would be reasonable.. i have heard some guys getting them installed at some exhaust shops..why would you want a 4 post lift.. subframe connectors are supposed to be installed with the suspension loaded..

4-post lifts keep the suspension loaded. Two post lifts unload the suspension and lets the suspension droop.
