370c.i. LSx Nitrous truck, NOS cross bar dyno results and track times
Just put an NOS cross bar on my buddies little LSx nitrous truck. A few weeks ago we took it to Amarillo dragway with an .082 jet in a big shot plate and went 1.62 60' 7.25 @ 94.59 and 11.42 @ 117 at 4920#(extended cab pick up). Was definitely some power left in that tune up. He decided he wanted to make some more power with more nitrous so we put a cross bar on it this week and took it to the dyno this last weekend
Setup consists of:
370c.i. LSx
L92 heads with the exhaust ports cleaned up
L92 victor intake with a FAST 4150 tb
248/248 .612/.615 112lsa(yes we know the cam is wrong)
4L80 trans FTI converter and 4.56 gears in a 10bolt
NOS PRO RACE nitrous noid and cheater fuel
c16 in a separate cell for nitrous
.060 nitrous jets
8* timing(accident. should have been 12)
Motor pull was 417rwhp
1st nitrous pull was 661/608
2nd pull, took out .5# of fuel, added 2* but didn't use a fresh bottle 666/702
3rd pull, added 2*(to end up at 12 where I originally wanted to start) and a fresh bottle and left everything else alone 681/699
Plugs were pulled each pass. #5 was the hottest so I tuned off it.
We're hoping to dip into the 10s with it this weekend.
Cylinder #5 from left to right is run 1,2,3
Cylinder #5, run 3
My plan was to make a hit at the track with it just as it sits and go from there. We've removed around 200# from the truck with 60# of that being rotating weight by taking the heavy 20" wheels off the front. Cross your fingers that we can get this land yacht in to the tens this weekend.
I feel that I can still clean up the fuel some and will end up with a couple more degrees of timing. What are your thoughts?
Thanks for any help or input.

Just a little update on this little project.
Made it to the track last night and reached our goal of 10s!
1st pass was just how it came off the dyno. .060n .053f, 12* total, 5.5 psi fuel pressure 1.705 60', 6.96 @ 102.70, 10.768 @ 128.88
We threw our little celebration and then went to work because I knew it would go faster if we got the 60' back down and clean up the tune a little
2nd pass pulled .5* timing for 11.5* total, took .5# fuel pressure out for 5# flowing 1.612 60', 6.85 @ 102.72, 10.666 @ 128.60
3rd pass added back the .5* timing I took out for 12* total and left everything else alone 1.616 60', 6.84 @ 103.92, 10.646 @ 128.55
Super pumped and proud of the truck. My buddy is completely satisfied with how the truck is performing. I think there is quite a bit left in it with this jet by just rebuild the trans. It's pretty sloppy as you can hear in the video. Also got some work to do on the suspension.
