Power Steering Rack - something other than Mustang II
I have a question. I thought I remembered a build, or a thread that I cannot seem to find where the subject of Mustang II racks came up. The obvious issue was that a Mustang II rack is set for a lower pressure and flow than any of the LS series pumps.
But, someone had found a similar rack that was compatible with the LS series pump. I don't remember if it was a T-Bird rack, or something else.
I know you can use shims and restrictors, but I thought there were even issues with this that I had read, and by making a simple swap you solved all your issues, but it seemed like most folks were not aware of this rack.

DSE has restrictor
We have the same problems with Jag steering racks. I used a DSE restrictor in
my PS II pump for the Vintage Air Front Runner assembly. Works great....

84-86 T-Bird rack......runs at about 2 gpm and 1100 PSI and its three turns lock to lock.....Depending upon which pump you have.....but....in my set-up (LS-GTO PUMP)
it took all the Twitchyness out of the car and made all the difference in the world in driveability (1937 Ford street rod)
Heres a link to the build and all the info is toward the end Page 26
Direct bolt in for the Mustang II
