Default 6.0/5.3 conversions w/o power steer and a/c

Anyone out there using the stock truck intake and accessories, but not running power steering and a/c?

I'm trying to figure out what I need and don't need to make this happen on the accessory brackets.

Anyone have pictures of their setup?

I switched to an LS6 intake on my 5.3 truck engine, I'm not running AC or power steering. This is the alternator bracket I used and I have a manual belt tensioner on the passenger side. I'm using LS1 crank and water pump thought. This is the bracket.

That's funny...I just got done looking at that bracket, but it pushes the alt out farther than I'd like.

I may try trimming off the power steering part of the original bracket and see how that works. I did see a company out there that mounts it down low on the drivers side.

The factory LS1 mounts it down there but the 5.3 and 6.0 steel blocks don't have the bolt hole drilled for it so you have to drill/tap the block.

F-body bracket is the easiest way to go. Drill an easy hole and swap the balancer. Your alternator will fit on the bracket and you can sell your old stuff to recover costs.

Maybe you could get an F-body unit and use spacers so you can keep your truck balancer.

Well fellas I went the CHEAP route and cut off the power steering part of the bracket. I'm painting it at this time, so I'll have pics up later.

Keep it simple. Use the alt bracket, get rid of all idler pulleys. Just route a new belt under the crank, around the alt, under the water pump, and around the idler. You'll just need a new belt.
