Default TBSS cam only + nitrous= 10.77 Record

Just wanted to share this with you guys here....cause I've learned a lot for reading this forum and talking with a few of the nitrous gurus on here, even though I don't post much. Thank you.

According to tbssowners website, my SS currently has the fastest stock block/heads (even still has stock truck intake) cam only record, and also the first TBSS in the 10 second zone still with a stock engine. I always figured if a cam only F-body with nitrous could run 9's. then a LS2 TBSS at about 4,400 lbs should at least go 10's. This was done a bone stock suspension and even has aftermarket sway bars still hooked up for the curves. Running a very tight yank 3200 10.5" converter unlocked.

I built a stand alone fuel system for it, running a Nitrous Outlet plate, and little second stage fogger. You can tell how much 60ft I gave up by rolling into it, it only pulled a 1.57, I'm currently upgrading the rear suspension now, and trying a different converter with triple disk to lock it up in 3rd. Hopefully will have some 1.4's 60ft's and get some sub 10.50's.

Thanks, Carter your one of the guys here that helped me. Once I have the suspension upgraded and a the triple disk converter in, I may go up on the shot! I was spraying with the converter unlocked, and had the window switch set to turn off at 6300 and she crossed the traps at 6400rpm. So all is very conservative, 14 degrees of timing.
Trans is local built 4L70, but I haven't sprayed it thru the shifts yet.

It made 412hp 417 ft lbs at the wheels on motor, and laid down 635 rwhp on the spray, with over 600 ft lbs the entire pull with a peak of 659 ftlbs.

Thanks, new converter is going in tomorrow, and just put adjustable control arms to get rid of the wheel hop. Hopefully some better times are on the way.

thanks, yea it takes a lot of torque to get 4400+ lbs moving. Someone told me I should go to direct port, I said "Why? I have a Nitrous Outlet Plate" Lol

Very nice numbers!

I have a ´03 4x4 silverado with the 5.3 engine, 444 comp cam, valve springs, open exhaust, and ZEX LS big shot nitrous system with a stand alone fuel cell. I hope i could get close to that numbers man, awesome!

I've seen this thing run in person. Moves out hard. Hopefully it will go faster the next time out.

Tried a different converter (triple disk) about a week ago, it was way too loose, but managed a 10.73 at 126.5mph on a 1.50 60ft. Getting it restalled now, hopefully run better next time out.
