Default LSx dimensions vs. a Gen I Chevy V8

Long story short: I'm aware of using a 1997-02 F body oil pan to 'stuff' an LSx into a passenger car that had a 265-400 Eight from the factory outside of 1962-67 Chevy II's, obviously.

My question being is how much hassle as in clearance issues would I have with swapping in a 5.3/4L60E combo including the FI/ignition systems into a 1959-66 Studebaker Lark? I know for a fact that a traditional SBC is 99% plug 'n' play into a Lark since the 1965-66 283 engine mount pedestals allow it to sit right in there with good clearance. Been there, done that.

Remember that clearance between the steering gear/linkage is tight on the left hand side and that's my biggest concern.
