Anything but 806 or 853s.. almost the same thing.. if you go 241s might aswell save a little extra for 243s.. not too much more

An ls1 head is an ls1 head. I will be getting ported 243's.

I also vote for 243/799 heads, although if you can get 317 heads (aka 6.0 heads) cheap enough they flow about the same as 243. The main difference with the 317 is much larger combustion chambers, but if you mill the heads .025" to .030" then they would be close to 64cc.

Not worth the cost and effort to change to replace stock ls1 heads with stock ls1 heads.

I wouldn't bother unless I went with a 799/243 and 317s will kill compression.

i have a set of ported 241 heads with brand new valves with a 3 angle valve job. had the guides checked they all looked great. heads have 30k miles total on them. and 0 since i just have them ported and polished and resurfaced with new valves. will let them go cheap if your interested

I remember a vendor here saying they put the same CNC ports into 243s and 317s and milled the 317 to the same chamber volume and on the dyno there was a 20hp difference still. It would be interesting to really know if the milling hurt the flow or if the chamber just has bad flame travel or what but those are pretty technical things to study and would take an OEM budget to really figure out.

I know the dyno is not the only measure but 20hp isn't a small anomaly.

If someone has it bookmarked please post, or hell if someone has seen a different result please post that.

If milled 317s were truely 243 equivalent I think we would see vendors offering it more.

Look and see if Ai does work on the 806. They don't list on their site, but they might. If so, you could get a complete CNC with spring package for like $1200.
