Default Patriot Extreme Valve Springs, stock cam?

Hey guys, would running the stock cam with Patriot Extreme valve springs and hardened pushrods cause any issues? I've met a couple of guys doing this on their cars (bolt-ons, nitrous) with no problems, but wasn't sure if this would cause any long term damage.

I did the same thing in my engine and I have a NASTY valve train tapping until the engine warms up. if it is cold enough it sounds like a diesel. But so far when she is warmed up it runs fine

Patriot's Gold springs would work great without all the extra stress the Extreme springs will cause.

Why are you using those springs on a stock cam? I am guessing you are planning a cam swap in the future? If not buy a different set of springs.

We are putting a car back together and found a motor for it, but it has Patriot Extreme Golds with hardened pushrods and stock cam.

Patriot is out of business now so you may as well use them.

You can still get patriot springs and retainers though.

Those springs are garbage. there is a reason they are so cheap.

If you want insurance, get a quality set of beehives like psi maxlife or pax 1218s.

They will perform normal, I ran them for a few months daily with no problem before the cam install.

I'm sorry sir but you are mistaken. Both springs are of very high quality. Take it from someone on my side of this industry.

I did the Tooley racing springs, pushrods and trunion upgrade a couple weeks ago. Next job is the cam and ATI damper which I wanted to bite off in steps. As mentioned by another poster my valvetrain sound like a sewing machine now.
