Default 02 z28 advice

i know you guys get these posts all the time (i know because i read a lot of them), but i think that all cases are different. i'm looking at getting into a 2001 or 2002 ls1/t56 only. i found a few around 11k, but i found a "rebuilt" title car for much less. i've read that you can expect around 30-50% lower value for a salvage/rebuilt/etc. title. the car has 87k miles. SOM. ls1/t56. monsoon system with 6 disc changer.

also has torn driver seat and a scratched rear bumper and "cracked windshield". i cant see the crack in the pictures of the car, but these are all small issues to me compared to the title issue.

what do you think? what is a rebuilt title?

if it's the same as a salvage title you might have trouble with your insurance co. but the cars are getting along in years and insurance is a bitch unless you have low miles. totalled mine and rebuilt out of pocket myself, saved thousands. should be able to title check your state laws and insurance co.

It also depends on what the car will be used for. If you are building a track car, I wouldn't hesitate to buy the salvage title car.

i wouldnt buy a salvaged titled car. if you are looking in the $11k range wait for a nicer car because there are many clean cars in that price range

Thanks for the replies. The car will be a daily car for sure. The price range for me is what makes the car so attractive. For 11 I can buy a car I like, for the rebuilt car plus a little cash I can make it the car I want. I live in tx, so the cars aren't very rare I guess I'll keep looking. I'm probably going to see the car anyway just for closure (and because its not far from my house). Thanks again.
