You can keep the questions coming thats what this Forum is all about! Haha I am eventually going to install a 1993 4l80e, this transmission is currently on a 98 camaro and the car runs great! If your planning to rebuild the tranny you shouldnt have too worry so much about the basic internals BUT you do want to make sure the housing is in great shape and that it has no cracks what so ever, if you want to install as it is you gotta make sure all the internals are in good shape that also goes for the housing condition, is your car a automatic?

You will need to download a 4l80e file from a late model truck pcm that will operate the 4l80e in your car. PCMFORLESS has a 4l80e conversion harness that will convert any 4l60e, 4l65e or 4l70e to 4l80e. Its a plug & play harness. You will need to use H.P. Tuners software to tune your new 4l80e for your vehicle after you install it.

You will probably need a new 4l80e transmission conversion crossmember for your car along with a new trans. Yoke, shorten the driveshaft as well since your are installing a larger transmission. Midwest Chassis can make you a 4l80e conversion trans. crossmember.

You also might have to cut an inch & a half off each side of the 4l80e bell housing to give you extra clearance for headers. Floor board modification if its going in a 4th gen camaro. ( clearance for electrical connector & harness.)

For the record, if your deal doesn't go through, any year can work
