Default Pushrod length and lifter preload?

I'm going to be assembling my new heads to my new shortblock,I've got a Comp pushrod checker. Will I need to check every cylinder?I'm running Comp R lifters with Pro Magnum rockerarms. How do I adjust the lifter preload?

Default This is easy

The pushrod lenght checker should be fine on one cyl. Unless you had your heads decked, then I would check on cyl on each side.

For preload, with the Pro Mags it is really easy. According to Comp, you start with the #1 cyl and work straight down the line. Bring the #1 Cyl to TDC (watch for both valves to be closed). When you start to see the exh valve open you adjust the intake 1/8 of a turn. This should bring you to about 4-6 thou on the preload. Then you set the exh side. Bring to TDC and watch for the intake to start to open and adjust from there. Keep going down the line.

If you are not comfortable with the way I explain it, these instructions are available on the comp web site.
