Default Cobalt SS/TC vs Challenger Srt (older model)

So its a beatiful day in the neighborhood, would u be mine, wont u be mine, wont u beeeeee my huckleberry?

I pass a toll and see the gorgeous orange challanger on side, old dude checkin out his front end. Did he bump something? Ehhh I dont think much of it cause at 60mph odds are I wont see him again. But i was wrong....dead wrong.

A few miles down, i see the shiny as the rising sun bright orange in the distance. He appears to be catching up. Could it be that he heard some turbo-age whistling as i scooted past as i ran the open toll? Hmmmm

Bummer i have to exit. And its a doozy. Nice hard 20mph complet circle and he is behind me. Whats this? U wana shot at the slobalt in the twisties yo? Ok im game.

Sooooo I let him get near to build his confidense then i lay into it....oh whats this, is the balt pulling away from the big hulking rear driver? Oh yes its true its daaaaaaaamn true (thank u old WWE flashbacks)

The turn opens up into a big straight. Im hoping he will pull next so i hold 2nd. I looooove 2nd. But no....old timer stays in it hard. He shoots by and it takes me some of 3rd to get the car length back. Then i grab 4th and pull past.

We do this cat and mouse a few times with me roaring by each instance. What do these run i have to know and as i google with the power of 20 thimbs tapping away furiously at my phone at the light....

He pulls up, ohhhh **** its on and im about to see some gorgeous rear tails of the orange beast. But whats this? Zzzzzzzzz his window rolls down. As i remember my manners as he is a good 60ish, i pay attention. He leaves me wiith this thought:

him: hey buddy, u know that thing they say about there being no replacement for displacement? Well you are an exception to that old as rule....nice lil ride. Take care ;-)

I didnt get a word in as he pulled away. So i just layed into it once more as i basked in the glory that even an old dog can respect the new age tech.

*no makin fun of typos, im on my cell and staring at a combo beef sammich and hot dog as i try and get this on tech with as much wit as i could muster...mmmm mustard

Good runs.
107-108 trapping car. Heavy pigs in the corners too.

Just count your lucky stars you didn't run into the Cobalt's arch enemy... the Sonata. Will knows what time it is.

I bet you had 4 more people in the car and ran 87 octane too. No other thing gives you a boost like that.

I cant get 4 adults in the cobalt, so i just stuffed my unused patio bricks in the trunk.

I posted this thread in 1999 cuz the velocity the extra weight created took me back in time.
People wana know what a cobalt is as i drive around at warp speed.

Lol, so much win in this thread. Rare occasion to find an old Mopar guy who shows respect to anything other than Mopar, especially a little chevy that can't beat Sonata's!

You left out the part where the Sonata walked past both of you, too embarrassed to mention it?
