Default "Built" 4L60E, Worth it?

Hello.
I've been seriously considering a torque converter for my 98 formula.
I have read that it can be dangerous to a stock transmission.
So I found this built 4L60E on cragslist.
It already comes with a 4000 stall.
So this could potentially save me money.

http://detroit.craigslist.org/mcb/pts/3413543866.html

Is it worth it?
Or am I better of with a Yank SS3600 and a tranny cooler?

Thank you

I daily drove a Yank 4000 for 5 years on a stock 4L60E with no problems. This was a full bolt ons and mild cam. Just make sure you get a nice trans cooler.

If your stock trans is in good shape I'd run that with the ss3600 converter.
Used transmissions and converters scare me. Too many shady people out there saying works great then it burns up in 50 miles.

In my 2 cars I have FLT lv5's both with 4k stalls. Nearly 10k miles this year no issues or regrets.

Spend the money once.

4l60e's are good on F-Body cars, there is people pushing those trannys to the limits and they wont break them! Of course, they do tend to brake down like anyother part out there, it just depends how you treat it, if your getting a built 4l60e thats good, more resistance to higher power what mods do you have in your car?

Just a catback and lid

But my winter mod list consists of;

LT Headers
ORY Pipe
3.73's
3600 or 4000 torque converter (possibly)

SO even with these mods i'll only be pushing 350 hp IF that.

You wont have any problems, its worth it just dont abuse that tranny too much! And remember, if you ever go bigger on HP remember to consider a 4l80e stock they will hold around 600RWHP with shift kit on F-Bodies all day long who knows maybe more
