What's up I'm new to the forum and LS world I'm doing a 5.3 swap in my 85 c10 I'm having a hard time finding a tranny for it I'm lookin for a 2wd 4L60E but I guess there are several different ones if anyone has some useful info it would be greatly appreciated thank you

personally, i'd consider a 700r tranny. but i'm no expert. just my .02

Why would u go with a 700 instead?

well i take back that suggestion for not knowing what your plans are. are you doing an ecu/harness swap also? if so, go with the 4L60 to take advantage of programmable shift points. they may be weak when stock but they can be made to be bullet proof. if not doing a ecu/harness swap, i'd go with the 700r. its an overdrive tranny and probably stronger than the 4L60e. just my .02 but its your build. i'm sure alot of people think an ecu/harness swap is a must but i'm considering the year of your c-10. my state doesn't have emmisions for an 85 and i vision a carburated LS motor build. just depends on what you are wanting
