Default how much can i lower my 98 SS?

i want to lower my 98 camaro ss. my front tires are 245s, rear are 275 on either 10 or 10.5in rim. so my question is how much can i lower it before i need to fabricate anything to prevent from any rubbing? and also, what else is needed to lower it the "right" way? ive heard i will need lower control arm relocation brackets but thats about it.. thanks

I wouldn't recommend anything over 1.5" on a DD... relocation brackets and an ADJ panhard.

x2 on that. Im lowered using BMR's level 2 handling package. Thats about 1.5" drop.

Im running 275/40R17 on all 4 on OEM SS Wheels. My tires rub only when going over a bump which causes rub on the top of the front tires. Otherwise no issues. I didnt cut my inner fenders or anything like that.

That looks good. Anything in front other than springs to get your drop? Would you mind sharing a fender measurement.

Depends on you definition of "right way".
All you need are springs, but with the stock shocks the car is going to handle and ride like crap. The rear end will be pushed to the drivers side without an adjustable PHB, and your front alignment will be off as well (alignment shop can fix easily, no parts needed).
Rear LCA reloctaion brackets can help gain back some traction, but will hurt handling.

If it were me I wouldn't lower the car any lower than 1.25", lowering it anymore will create ground clearance issues and really degrade the ride quality of the vehicle. If you have a bunch of mileage on your factory shocks I would definitely recommend looking at doing shocks at the same time as doing the lowering springs. If you are looking for a more budget oriented setup I would look at the Bilstein shocks, if you are looking for something a better then take a look at the Koni shocks.

After the vehicle is lowered it will push the rear end over to the driver's side of the car so using an adjustable panhard rod will allow you to center the rear end back up underneath the car and also LCA relocation brackets will correct the lower control arm angle after the car has been lowered. These are things that don't absolutely have to be done but is defintiely recommended.
