Default alarm question

i just got a 00 z28 and its got some sort of audiovox keyless remote on the key chain. and i added a new battery but cant hopen the door with it. have to use the key and every time i use the key an unlock the door. the alarm goes off after about 10 secconds of the door beeing open is there something i can do to stop this? untill i can get a new remot its got an lcd but it seems busted

Usually that happens because when you lock your car with your remote you have to unlock it with the remote again, soo if you lock it with your remote and try to open it with the key the alarm will turn on :/ it has happened to me and same as my truck, lock it with remote and try to unlock it with key the alarm will go on and it wont unlock. You have to get that new remote, have it programmed to your car and im sure it could solve your problem. Hope that helps a bit bud

the remote doesnt work at all if i hit the button on the inside of the door. to lock the doors before i close it and then unlock it with the key the horn and lights go off. usualy have to put the key in the ignition to stop it.

im thinking about gettin a viper alarm system installed

Best recommendation is to purchase a new alarm system will solve your problems for sure!

In the meantime, locking the car with the key (or the inside slide lock) instead of using the power locks will prevent the alarm from arming.

yeah thats what i do is lock with the key and beein i dont know suat about this alarm system or didnt install it i think ill just get a new one
