Default I need a new key for the G8

I just have one and that makes me nervous. I need to get another, but haven't found out how to get one without selling a kidney first. Have any of you found where to get a key like this and get it programmed for a total price cheaper than the GM stealership?

Just buy a new housing on ebay and put your current stuff into it.... no? If you can find one.

I don't want to replace the key. I want a second key (spare).

Im sort of in the same boat. My flip key is pretty raggedy due to a trip through the washer/dryer.

Not sure if what it would cost to get the key cut. But you program it yourself.

order one from the dealer. You can get one for under 100$ and program it yourself. Don't let them tell you that you cant.

I just found the instructions for programming it last night...well early this morning. So that's definately one less thing GM can steal from our pockets.

Try keylessride.com and ask for a particapting locksmith in your area if the car needs a tech two to program the key (not sure on your car). They have all of the programming instructions. If you have one key and it gets lost your screwed. It will be atleast double by the time your done. I managed the auto side of a huge locksmith. People were dumbfounded when then I told them how much it was to replace their keys plus a possible tow bill & I was cheaper then the dealer. It may save u a nightmare. Good luck.
