Default how much to mill these heads ?....

Motor is bone stock 04 ls1 out of a 2004 gto .. I'll be milling the 241 heads once i do the cam swap ..

New cam will be MS4 and I thought of milling the heads for extra power while i'm in there .. how much is best and safe for my case ? and are there any bad things i'd look out for in the future ?

Im not sure how much or if you could take any off without needing to flycut for PTV clearance with that cam. Im sure someone that runs the MS4 will chime in here or possibly tsp may know the answer. That bein said i took .015 off mine but my cam is much smaller then your.I had no problems

you need to cut the pistons with that cam if you even look at the heads wrong. If you want to flycut you can cut as much as you want off the heads

oh ****, that's a shame

Well flycutting the pistons will be another fun project for me. What is needed to cut if I wanted to bump cr up to 11.5:1 ? or maybe more ?! and is it safe ? will I have any cooling issues in the summer ?

Thanks a lot guys

If you want to run the ms4 talk to one of the guys over at Texas Speed & Performance about what you want to do. I'm pretty sure you're going to run into PTV issues if you cut the heads. You're not going to get to 11.5:1 with your set-up. If you want 11.5:1 go with a smaller cam and cut the heads.
