Cobalt SS vs 04'ish Saleen.....puppy kick
Why does it just sound plain wrong that a Cobalt is the puppy kicker here?
So I take the same ol boring way home 90% of the time. But knowing Chicago traffic you may see the same guy (well in a car that stands out) occasionally, Well in this case I see this gorgeous Saleen twice in 2 weeks. Last time I ran into him, it was traffic-y so we danced around each other a bit, although I wasn't quiet sure if he knew I was serious since he didn't seem to ever really get on it hard.
Sooooo on the way home today, guess who I see as I merge on to highway
Oh yes, I remember you
Not sure if he rememberd me. I mean I am just a red, 4 door, low-rise winged Slobalt. So to combat my usually subtle demeanor I made sure to make a ruckus. I got next to him, put it in 2nd and goosed it several times with a thumb up. Being a cool 40 degrees outside, I break loose at anything under 40 so i think between the blow off and sqeels he figured out I wana play.
HW opens up and OMG he knows the 3 honk! It seems a rarity these days. Anyway, we line up and I honk from about a 40. With a lil spin, I still pull a car pretty quick, grab 3rd and continue to pull prob another car before grabbin 4th and letting off. We do this one more time with same results.
He lines up next to me on HW, window down trying to talk but I cant hear so I say I know u exit same as me so I will get next to u when we get off.
My fav part of every race is here:
Him - What in the **** is in that thing?
Me - Well GM threw the turbo on for me and I just threw a DP and a tune on it
Him - Well its just plain sick
Me - Are you stock?
Him - Yes (but i saw he had some big *** tires and it sounded freakin sweet so stock may mean exhaust and who knows what else)
Him - What do u think u make at the wheels?
Me - Maybe like 310 but it weights 3000lb so that's the secret
Him - Freakin sweet
Me - Gorgeous car, take care.
Cool guy. Took me some egging on as usual but it was worth it. It was kinda ugly for him from a roll. He danced the tail for me from a light we didn't catch together so I am pretty sure I woulda placed cho-cho train had we got a dig run in but the stars didn't align for him

Oh, it wouldn't be hard. A friend of mine had one exactly like the one in the picture and his was the supercharged version. I had driven N/A 4V Cobra's that felt faster than his boosted 2V.
