Hi, glad to find this great sight. I am starting an LS1 swap into my 80 ElCamino, and the info here is priceless. I have at least a million questions(of course) but lets start with an easy one: From what I read the ls will be about 100 lbs lighter than my origional sbc, if this is correct what if anything do I need to do to the springs? My donor is an 02 SS camaro, got it complete with 4L60E trans, harness,and accessory drive. Not scared to cut/weld/box anything needed, already planning to box the open channel part of the frame, and lower trailing arms so a little more welding will not hurt my feelings. Right now the car is in pieces, down to the bare frame, body is sealed with POR-15 and PPG DP90LF. Now down to the mechanical part. Will post pics soon.
