1999 T/A Vs. 1972 Nova
My friend and I have been wondering who is faster for a while, so we finally found out. We were in an empty parking lot, so i only made it to the top of 2nd.
Cars: Mine- 1999 Trans Am M6, catback, 3.42's
His- 1972 Nova 4 bolt 350, forged pistons, ported factory gm 2.02 heads, voodoo cam, turbo 350, 3.08 rear gear
I don't know the details on his car, but it is a fairly mild 350/350 combo.
He launched harder than i did both races, but i don't want to kill my 10 bolt. I left soft, holding half throttle until 4k rpm in 1st. We launched pretty even, but he would nudge ahead, then when i shifted into 2nd i would pull nicely.
I'm thinking i'd have him by at least 1/2 a second in the 1/4. Either way they were good runs, and we had some fun.

For Sure, but it is the only place around here that isn't technically illegal to have fun. We want to get the cars out to Fontana Drag Strip, but if we break something we wouldn't have a tow vehicle.
