Default C6 19x10 and 18x8.5. Car wanders side to side

I have the 18x8.5 up front and am wondering if its just the large tire size up front, but the car wants to wander side to side while driving. It seems like Im constantly fighting the steering wheel to keep it straight. Does anyone else have this problem?

Also looking for some Drag Radials to fit the 19x10's does anyone make em?

Thats called "tracking" and usually the cause is a wide tire up front, but an 8.5 inch tire is really not very wide and should not be having that problem, but you having to fight the wheel like that is when you know your car is tracking. A good way to know if tire tracking is your problem is if it only fights you on rough roads. If your on smooth roads and it is still hard to control you should go have the wheels checked for possible balancing issues? Atleast thats what I would do.... Good luck!

Their 245/40/18 eagle f1's. It is very noticeable on rough roads and not very bad on smooth roads. Thats why I was thinking it was just the wide tire, but I dont know. Everything else seems fine suspension wise.

I found some mickey et streets in 305/35/19 that should fit nicely on a 19x10.

The width of your current tires aren't any wider than the stock 245-50-16 tires. Did you notice the problem before?

sounds like it could use some aligning.

Yeah I'll prolly take in it and have the alignment checked. 245 tires shouldn't cause tracking.

i have 245's on my car up front and it tracks in the lane sometimes. Felt like my alignment was off, but then it started pulling the other way lol.. u can usually see the high spot in the middle of the lane.

I have 275's up front and it slightly does this on casual, normal acceleration. The more even the pavement the less it does it, I think it's just the fact that most suburban/rural roads are paved so they lean slightly to the right and you just notice it more with a slightly wider tire.

Thanks for bringing this up. - have the same setup and the same issue. Close anyway. Not to highjack your thread here. Perhaps my adding in can help us both. My suspension has been checked out by 3 diferent places and said there's nothing wrong. Balancing is perfect and I have new Hankooks on the rear. Car is just great on smooth pavement , but can jerk and pull pretty good on uneven roads. I had a scare with this last summer at 110 mph and almost lost control. I'm not okay with it as it is. Maybe some Strano front and rear sway bars could help?

I'd really like to stay with these rims, they look really sweet on the car. Don't go more than a 305 in the rear or you could get rubbing like I did with 325s. Now, I have 305s and no rubbing.

Mine are also OEM with hubcentric adapters, 1.25". The alignment and balancing is spot on as well.

I really think its just tracking side to side. It doesnt seem anything else is wrong with mine either, and its horrible on bad roads and not so bad on good roads.

CM, have you tested it with a stock size setup to see if the issue goes away or lessens? I'd also like to know how a C6 Vette handles running these. That's a BURNING question.

Mine did that on bad roads with worn wheel ruts in the pavement. The tires are so wide they track funny in the wheel ruts but were fine on nice profiled roads.
