Default Cam install, please review my parts

OK, basically I'm ready to order a cam package and a couple other things, just wondering if I have picked out any wrong items.

For the cam, I am going with the MS4 with dual valve springs/pushrods.

Other things I am wanting would be:

GM Replacement LS7 Lifters (https://texas-speed.com/p-309-gm-rep...7-lifters.aspx)
GM LS2 & Newer Style Timing Chain (https://texas-speed.com/p-414-gm-ls2...ing-chain.aspx)
Basic Camshaft Bolt & Gasket Kit (https://texas-speed.com/p-169-basic-...asket-kit.aspx)
Melling High Volume Oil Pump (https://texas-speed.com/p-109-mellin...-oil-pump.aspx)
GM Oil Pump O-Ring (https://texas-speed.com/p-112-gm-oil-pump-o-ring.aspx)

Are all these parts good options, that will fit into place without any mods? Am I missing anything?

Any help would be awesome, I would love to order everything at once to cut shipping costs.

Thanks!

Sorry, I was just getting ready to edit, but its a 98 camaro, M6
Its not a daily driver, just a fun car on nice weekends, take it to the track 2 times a year, and I would love to see high 11's with a cam only set up and ive seen it done before with the MS4.
It ran a 12.9 with exhaust only a few weeks ago.

That's alot of cam. You will need gears with that and a good rearend to do that cam only. I would love for my car to have that MS4 sound but I want mine to be fun for around town driving. You will also most likely have to spin your motor pretty high and them 98 rod bolts might not like that.

If your wanting an aggressive setup the MS4 is definitely a good choice. Your list looks good but I would swap the high volume pump for a high pressure one and you won't need a GM o-ring as the melling pump comes with a new one. Also feel free to give me a call Ill be happy to go over everything with you and make sure you get the right parts the first time around.

If you are going to do lifters you should do heads also. To much work and $ on bolts and gaskets to put stock heads back on.

as much as I would like to do heads, I just don't have it in me to spend that much more money. Heads will come someday, possibly next Christmas. My current clutch is shot so I already have to factor in 500+ for that as well. But heads will come someday.

Lifters aren't a necessity if you aren't pulling the heads. Just adds a lot of work.

Also, you don't need the o-ring. The Melling comes with two different ones (one for the iron block and one for our cars).

Even a pair of 243 heads would help significantly. You can buy those used for around 500 bucks and ensure roughly roughly around 20 horsepower. It's going to help that cam put out more power. This is a setup that I went with for my current build: TSP 224R Cam, 243 Heads, and full TSP Exhaust.

*Cam: TSP 224R
*Heads: 243 Heads
*Exhaust: TSP 1-7/8" LTH, TSP Y-Pipe, Already had aftermarket mufflers with car.
*LS7 Lifters (12499225) x1
*LS2 Lifter Guide Trays (12595365) x4
*Ported Melling Oil Pump (SD0295C) x1 [mine came with gaskets]
*LS2 Timing Chain (12586482) x1
*LS2 Head Gasket (12589227) x2
*Cylinder Head Bolt Kit (12498545) x2
*Texas-Speed Camshaft Bolt and Gasket Kit (28-CamGskKit) x1
[Kit includes:Cometic Timing Cover Gasket, Cometic Front Crankshaft Seal, Cometic Water Pump Gaskets, GM Harmonic Balancer Bolt]
*Brian Tooley Max Pressure Spring Kit .565" (SK002) x1
*LS Chromoly Pushrods (PR7400312) [comes in 16's] x1
*Assembly Lube
*Iridium NGK Spark Plugs
*LS1 Spark Plug Wires [changed due to high mileage]
*Rocker Arms [if a high mileage ride or high lift cam]
*LS1 Coil Relocation Kit
*Center bolt valve covers

Last 2 listed are because of the '98 model f-body.

*A tool to compress the valve springs

*Be prepared to be having to buy things online and for this to take a while. There have been things that I have had to get here and there. If this is your first time doing this, things will probably break. For instance, I accidentally ripped one of my knock sensors (yikes) and had to get pigtails and the appropriate knock sensor.

Best of luck. Just be patient. This process takes a while.

Coolant bypass gaskets... A lot of people talked me out of the ms4 cam as well that's a big cam you might haave to fly cut your pistons ... I like the way that cam sounds but you gotta.spin the motor to high you might and well do rod bolts with that cam

Look at tick performance's cam package deal.... I have a friend with 243 heads, ls6 intake and a cam similar to Martin's 231/238 on a 112 make 419/396 at the tires....
