Street Racing & Kill Stories - Are all Mustang owners the same?

Ok I have had two seprate mustangs on two different instances completely piss me off. This weekend I followed a Cobra with HUGE tailpipes completely through town, almost 15 minutes of crowded traffic with many revs exchanged between us. As soon as the traffic clears and the next available red light comes, he crosses four lanes and ditches to the interstate.

Today, in the rain, I am on my way home form work when a new GT practically blows me off of the interstate by surprise. I was really pissed so I threw the ole A4 down in 3rd @75mph and gunned it somwhat. After fighting the rain and the traffic to catch the a*hole I get ready to pull alongside and see what gives. As soon as I push it to get alongside him, he pulls out from the fast lane and cuts me off and uns it. So I practically become a portion of his bumper and he immediately darts between traffic back into the fast lane leaving me behind a rustbucket 240Z (no offense to anyone) with nowhere to go.

Is it just me or does every mustang owner who is cocky not seem to have the gonads to even show what they have. I would love to be smoked by a mustang, atleast I would know what I need to do next to my basically stock car to make it better, but I cannot even get one to own up.

Whats the deal???

Assholes are in everything from sports cars to SUV's and trucks. Dont worry about it, you will never have a chance to have a road filled with good drivers. It is impossible!

yeah guys in mustangs can be dicks but the ricers are worse. every mustang i have reced besides one i pulled up to at the next light and they were like oh shit lol but some are dick, those are the ones that are jealous :)

I can think of 3 friends that have Mustangs. One has some work done to it and claims it runs 10's. The other is always talking about how hes gonna do this and that but hasn't touched the car in 5 years. And the 3rd has a nice convertible that is pretty well built, knows what he has and is really modest about it. I have known a few stem whackers in fbods. It's like that with every car, I think us fbody guys single out Mustangs cuz there kinda like our arch nemesis. To me if your cool about it, I respect you and your car. If your a dick then your cars a junk.

I find the guys in f-bodies are the worst! their damn mullets get in the way :P

I personally find that the worse car I drive, the more assholes there are on the road. Maybe it's because when I am driving a faster car I pass by all the people that piss me off when I am in the caravan. (see below)

I used to drive a mustang so I know they can't all be assholes. I always respected LS1 powered vehicles in my stang. I knew I'd lose in a race against one too but that didn't stop me from racing a vette on the freeway late one night. I did it just to see for myself what the difference would be (believe me, I found out :judge: ).

Now that I own a z28 I still respect mustangs. I know stock for stock or even lightly modded I can still beat most but I still respect them. When I see an idiot driver I think "gee, there's an idiot" not, there's another one of them >insert car model here< drivers, they're such idiots.

Of course some models seem to attract more idiots than others. Mainly the rice crowd. But some rice is respectable and I respect those that are tasteful because that person is an enthusiast just like me.

I just don't like idiot drivers and people that spend a bunch of money making their car "look" fast instead of actually making it fast. Usually those go hand in hand. Just because you're driving fast doesn't make your car fast. :chug:

The answer to ur question is no... as bad as it sounds, I am an owner of a mustang.. :( ... it's not too bad... it's a 1966 so I like it much better than the newer ones which I really dislike... IDK why they dont race... the Cobras arent that bad... running a 12.9 1/4 mi stock... of course, I think that Cobra owners are kinda stupid... personally if I was gonna spend that much on a car I would most def. buy a Vette or something that could wipe a Cobra's @$$... I guess they like to show off their "muscular" sound but dont want to show their speed... or lack of it...

It's not just mustang guys. Although when the mustang guys are assholes they seem to be a little different.

My thoughts on the jackass sub-group of owners :

Mustang guys are dismissive to everyone but other Ford guys.It's like they refuse to recognize other vehicles can be faster.

Honda guys tend to think that everything but theior Hondas will blow up and handle like shit.

Mitsubishi guys think they have the baddest motors on earth and that their AWD Eclipse will OwN J00z on the street.

Haven't dealt with too many Mazda fans but they seem to think Rotary motors are the greatest and always neglect to metnion the true "displacement" of their engines. I think this is because they are just about the biggest users of the hp per L schtick.

F-Body guys seem to be somewhat clueless and generally hate the fuck out of Mustangs. I had one 98 Firebird owner tell me he was going to make his bird AWD....

VW guys are dismissive as well it seems. Like "if it's not teutonic who the hell cares".

Corvette guys are usually out of their fucking minds. Totally dismissive with shitty arrogant attitudes. I know a guy with an 84 Corvette and he thinks it's the greatest thing ever. Mention Ferrari Maranello to this guy and he says "Bah, it can't hang with my Vette!" . His Vette is stock and making arounf 170 at the wheels.

Am I the only one that saw some problems with this? First you tried racing on busy streets, then racing in the rain. Im only 19 and know thats not very smart :) Were not all a-holes, hell I like when LS1s pull up next to me looking over like "just another turd 5.0" Makes my day....

Dont get me wrong here...I did in fact go looking for fun with the first stang...at night...and dry. Its the 2nd one that almost made me loose control by blowing by me at around 95mph in the pouring rain. I guess it was a little road rage that made me go after him...thats Atlanta traffic for you...anyway I am always looking for someone to play with...not to beat necessarily..but just to learn what I need to do next time to win....

i have a lot of respect for the fox bods. Ya never know what they have. It also seems whenever they do have something, they will wax the floor with your ass. But maybe thats why i found out the guy i raced ran an 11.9 at 4800 feet. But thats besides the point...i find more civic drivers being assholes. Also...all the vette owners ive come across act like they are gods. And whenever i race another f-body...they seem to come up with the dumbest excuses on why they lost. They just should just be happy they lost to another fbody IMO.

Around here here your number 1 competition on the street is the Fox mustang. They are by and far the largest group of quick street cars. I respect 'em.

lol, im the same exact way! two of my good friends have stangs, a 03 GT with exhaust and an 88 GT T-tops (mint condition) with all bolt ons and a ton of suspension. Honestly, they are nice cars. I just hate the fake scoop on the GT.

Yep, here in houston you have to be leary about anything from an LT1, to a stang and even the civics. Watch out for the little foxes we have here with bigblocks and enough gas in the car to make a dentist office jealous! :D

Yep Burnem, you really have to be careful cause when that primered up hooptie rolls up next to you and you start laughing at it. do not be surprised that it might run a damn 10.7 at 128 mph. Titanium Barchetta seemed to thrive on the LS1/6's here in houston like that!! aint that right chris. BTW TITTY, craig sent me some funny ass pics of you that he photoshopped.
