Default Studder help

Maybe you guys can help diagnose a problem im having. Its a 2000 Camaro SS M6. Every now and then, I believe it happens mostly when the car is warmed up, the car will studder in gears 1-4. I can hear the rpm raise but acceleration gets interrupted. I noticed that every time it happens the Needle on the dash for MPH will drop to zero than go up and down until i let off it. It has been happening intermittently for awhile but their is no check engine light or codes. Also just today i now noticed a tick noise under the hood. It sounds like valve-train noise but im not positive. Any help would be great.. Thanks

Looking for any ideas. I would think anything that could cause a hesitation and the Speed to go out of whack at the same time must be a computer issue?
