E-Brake light is on. What's the problem?

E-Brake light is on. What's the problem? I have a 98 SGM Z28 that I've had a month now I've have recently found out my car is rare. "Happy Happy Happy". The E brake light was on when I got it the owner said it was something in the computer that the Ebrake was fine and it is just wanna know how to get that light off! Anyone know what it could be please help
