What is this?!?!
Hey guys. Was driving down the road and saw this switch in my 99 T/A 6 speed. It's right under the dash installed in the console right next to where the drivers right leg would be. It looks factory and connects to a harness but I don't know what it does! It's a 3-way switch(up, middle, and down) and I found it in the down position.
I stopped and flipped the switch to all 3 selections but I didn't notice and changes in anything. No lights on the outside or inside or anything that I could tell.
Here are a couple pics.
Here's the switch.
It is connected to the harness on the right with the gray conduit.
Also what is the plug on the right which is disconnected for?
Thanks guys!

It is definitely not factory but it's nice to know that the previous owner did good work when wiring modifications. There's not a whole lot of things that would use a 3-position switch so I would suspect it's a fan control but there are other possibilities.
The factory TCS switch goes on the panel next to the cigarette lighter.

Not TCS, Not Fans, Not skip shift, and so far not lights. I spun easily with it in each position, Skip Shift light came on AND locked out second in each position, My fans work great and are factory, and I hit the switch with the lights on and off and saw no change but I can't see it when I hit the brakes if it kills that signal. It puzzles me that it is a 3 way. Why 3 way? Lol

can't comment on the 3-way, but if i had to guess i'd say a fog light override? don't the fog lights turn off when the brights are on? about the only thing left that hasn't been mentioned specifically, but probably already checked if you did a thorough lighting sweep.

NEW PICS!!
Ok, traced the wires. There are 3 inside the gray cover. Red, white, and black. The black is the ground which you will see in the pics, the red and white splice into a plug in the engine bay. Check it out and let me know what you guys think it is! What is that plug specifically?!
And yes Jassick, no lights of any kind that I have been able to figure out so far.

I have a switch, actually it's a button located in the same spot and I was told it was some sort of reset button for my wide band? Idk if this is the same as yours since it is a 3 way switch and not a button like mine, but I just figure i'd throw it out there.

Yeah my co-worker keep asking me questions of what it might be but they are all for something like a momentary switch or 2 selection rocker switch and I have got nothing so far.
What is that connector that it goes to in my engine bay? What does that connector go to?

well there went the easy answers. is that the bundle of wires that runs over the passenger side wheel well? hate to keep going back to it, but i thought all those connectors were for the front lights.
hey, does your horn work? I'm just reaching at this point, trying to think of all the electronics infront of the radiator. plus i'm really curious as to what it's for.

see if its any sort of headlight mod...
with low beams on the foglights should be able to turn on. and with high beams on the lows and fogs should be off.. see if this allows a combo of foglights and lowbeams to be on when the highs are on... usually its a one time only thing but to make the fogs turn on too would make sense.
