Default Cam change or stock

I have a 2004 Silverado 6.0 liter that is completely stock and I've figured out I have a bad lifter.

Thinking that since I have to change the lifters, should I do a cam swap? It's a stock truck and I'm only looking for mild performance upgrades.

What cam would you all recommend or, should I just stay stock?

Something small like an LS6 cam would provide a mild upgrade at a cheap price

Well, in order for you to really benefit from the cam your going to need headers and exhaust. Do you have a LQ9 or 4? You could home port the heads and mill them (check ptv) while you have them off but unless you plan on doing headers, cai, cam, springs, pushrods, possibly a torque converter, and a tune I wouldn't mess with it. I'd mill the heads a little to true them up or a little more than that if you have a LQ4 and just do some bolt ons if you want some performance. A cam swap will turn into alot of money because of all the supporting mods. If you want some more power I would just fix whats broken and do a few bolt ons and a tune. Good luck.

Headers are nice but an LS6 cam will work well with the stock manifolds too. Since it will cost the about the same as a stocker you might as well go with one. I would have a good valve job done and install the LS6 springs on the heads and call it a day.

I'd go a little bigger then the ls6 cam, to make the effort worth your time and money.

I found a new LS2 cam for $90. Are these any different from what I have in it now?
