Default drop in walbro 255 for 2nd gen s-10?

Hey guys, I need a little help. I need to know if there is a model of Walbro pump that works in the s10 fuel pump bucket. I have a 1997 s10, and the fuel pump can't seem to keep up with the 5.3, so I want to get a 255lph pump and drop it in to replace the 'lil 2.2 pump. I've done some homework, and it appears that the f20000169 is a decent pump, but I just want to make sure it works with the s10 bucket thingie. Thanks in advance guys, and I'll let you know what I can get out of this 5.3 once the pump is fixed!

I bought mine from racetronix along with the hotwire kit after about 1 hour of driving my fuse blew for the fuel pump. Non of them are just technically a drop in some mods are needed but easy.

quick question though does your fuel gauge work since the swap i cant seem to get mine to work

I sent an email to racetronics, hoping for a response, and yes, my fuel gauge works....Is yours pegged out over full? If so, ground the black wire on the two pronged connector by the large connector next to the heater fan... I hope that makes sense. I think it's "C121" it has a purple and black wire, don't hook the purple to anything. and let me know if that helps! I've been through the 1997 harness a few times, so if you need anything else let me know. I'd be glad to help

Wish I'd have had that info... I ended up hacking an Aero-340 into my stock '96 S-10 hanger.

I appreciate the part number! Hopefully, your tank is empty and the gauge is correct. I'll look and see if I can find a diagram for ya.

Probably too late to be of any help for this project, but on our 89 S10 / LS1 conversion we used a GM pump for a 2000 S10. It fit fine on our 89 pump/sender setup. That allowed us to use our 20 gallon tank & original sender. Also, a professional mechanic friend of ours would not use after market pumps. He didn't think that they were as reliable for the long haul. Also, this pump seems to keep up fine with the 5.7.
Hope this helps.
