224/228 worth swaping to 222/230 L92
Hey guys this is my first post so bear with me, I have a 71 chevelle with LQ9/L92 combo, hooker long tubes and mentioned 224/228 .581 .588. I'm eyeing the EPS cam 222/230 cam with some advance ground into it hoping it will help my low end lugging, car pull pretty good above 3k but around town it's a dog. In the end I want the car to be more responsive, more low end torque, so what are my options can I advance the cam I have or should I swap to the eps cam. the duration change is somewhat minimal but the eps will have some advance ground into it.
More details about setup
4l60e
2500 stall
3.55 gears
114 LSA
10.4 compression
L92 heads stock no milling done

Not worth the change. A change of 1-2 degrees will not do anything, but maybe move the curve 100-200rpm's and 2-5rwhp at the absolute most.
If you want more power down low with those heads you need something like this:
273/285@.006"
223/235@.050"
147/158@.200"
110LSA 108ICL 112ECL
223/235 .610"/.621" 110+2
Edit: cam was supposed to be 223/235 .610"/.621" 110+2

If your car is a "dog" with the current set up you need to figure out why. The only thing that even appears remotely out of place is the low stall converter but it should still work decent with the rest of that combo.
Fuel injected or carbed? How sure are you of the tune either way?

OP cam change isn't worth it for that small of a swing in events. I think there is something else wrong or off with your set-up. A 3500 stall would make it much more responsive from putting it into a higher powered portion of your power band quicker than having to wait for your current 2500 stall to get to the "meat" of your power band.

in my opinion i think the car is mechanically sound, has good power can smoke the tires with ease 8K miles so far on setup no issues. its just the around the town stop light to stop light that i have a complaint with maybe i'm being picky i know there is some compromise with having a cam, just thought a cam with some advance ground into it or advancing my current cam would help.
