Default Which 1st gen Camaro headers?

I'm wondering what you guys are running for headers on your 1st gen Camaro LS swaps?

Budget is a concern, but more importantly I want something that will fit well with the PS box, ceramic coated and preferably long tube.

Can you post brand, part #, and price paid? Also, if you have pics, that would be great. Thanks.

Don't have the numbers off hand and I have a manual box...but the Dynatech headers fit the bill for me (not running yet ) eveything cleared good...except 2 plug wires. These are the 1 7/8"

Edit: header P/N 715-11510

Looks good Doug. Which plugs did you have a problem with?

Maxharvard, what's different about those headers vs a set for a stock subframe? Any pics?

The speedtech versions are slightly different for the STP subframe.

However, they do make a version for the stock subframe.

Hi Brent, I used Hooker Long Tube Headers. They fit perfect. They clear the power steering box without any issues.

Thanks. Two quick questions.

1) What steering box are you using? (I have a Delphi 670)

2) Is this the part # you used: Hooker Headers 2288-1?

I just missed out on two nice low mileage LS engines. One I got outbid last second on eBay, and one was still listed on LKQ but had already sold. The search continues...

Cool. That's the pan I'm looking at.

Out of curiosity, why the 1" setback?

I used Doug's LS swap headers with their mount plates. They fit perfectly and there is no issue with spark plug clearance - I used the stock plug wires.

I was able to dimple the #3 tube and use the factory manual clutch linkage. I also have a late model quick ratio steering box.

Motor set-back to match stock tranny location.

Doug do you have room to move your engine forward with those headers?
If you look at drivers side only, how much room is there from the tubes hitting the steering box? Especially the tubes behind the box. Or even the #1 tube hitting the mounts or something else as the way it's routed in this pic you took. Could you look n let us/me know? I want to move my engine from 1" setback to 1/2" setback or 0" setback.

Last question...

What are you using for a tranny? I have an old Saginaw, so I'll be upgrading to a T56 or a TKO of some sort. I don't think the Sag is going to last long behind an LS engine.

I didn't see any info posted in your thread on TC.
