Finishing my 408 today. Thoughts/Suggestions....

Default Finishing my 408 today. Thoughts/Suggestions....

Hopefully will be finishing my 408 install today.

4" Lunati Crank
Eagle Rods
Wiseco -3cc Pistons
TSP LS3 Ported/Polished Heads w/ Hollow stem valves
235/242 .638/.615 112+2
LS3 Intake
LS7 Lifters
1 3/4" LT's

Any thoughts on my HP/TQ numbers through my M6? Anything I could have done better or should upgrade next? This was my first build so give me some slack!

bigger 1 7/8th headers

the ls3 heads are reallllly hit and miss on smaller bores, especially in ported form. honestly I think you wouldve been better off cathedral or tsp small bore ls3 heads.

I thought i made a good choice on the heads lol

Oh and i forgot to mention my compression will be at 11:1

Big *** intake valve and small 4.030 bore = valve shrouding and the huge runner is going to lose velocity. Ls3 style heads belong on 4.060+ bore

I'm interested in ur results bro. Dyno it. Post numbers. Then if u can post track times. I'm in the middle of the same build and stuck with the heads portion. I think more people should post their results at the track with these heads to help out everyone else in the same situation. Either way I will stay tuned for ur results.

yea man deffinitly will. i really hope i dont end up disappointed with HP/TQ numbers. i'm shooting to break 500HP. but i know i shouldnt get my head wrapped around numbers but still lol

Search in the g8 section for patrick gs post about switching from his l92 heads to AFRs and you will be enlightened. Ls3 heads are nice, but they really do have their place.

I just built a real similiar setup, tainted is right about the heads, i have some issues with valve float at 5200 rpm, but still made 480 horse at 5200 through a T56 trans with 3.89 gears and 24 and 1/2 tire. The only thing i have differsnt is a Fast LSXr intake. Hoping for over 500 after i get my valve spring problem fixed.
