Default 408, GT55-94, E85, Glide, Truck manifold build & result -- 7/10/14 --8.87 @ 158 VID

Build thread number 2. Here is the link to the previous build : https://ls1tech.com/forums/forced-in...e-12-10-a.html

After ending the season to a lean number 7 cylinder i decided to make some serious changes to the setup, and after much debate.... share them with my fellow tech followers. I cant complain about how the first setup worked, but now that i have a lot of bugs and tests worked out of the car she is ready for round 2. Here is a shakedown of the basic setup and changes:

Iron 6.0 block
Eagle 4.00" crank
Compstar 6.125" rods
Wiseco -3 dish pistons/Wiseco rings

LS9 heads
Cometic head gaskets
Brian Tooley springs
Comp Cam(Martin@Tick Performance)
1/2"ARP studs

Holley Hi-ram
102TB
160lb high imp injectors from FIC
Pump E85
Magnafuel 750 prostar pump
Nasty nate cell
Tuned by Myself

Garrett GT55-94 turbo
1.40 exhaust housing
truck manifolds w/ v-bands
2 x JGS 40mm wastegates
JGS 60mm BOV
5" Downpipe
2.25" crossovers

Powerglide Transmission
Dedenbear case
1.80 straight cut gearset

Burkhart Fabricated 9"
3.50 gear
35 spline moser axles
Lightweight spool and center section
Aluminum 3.5" driveshaft

Car is WAY under the knife at the moment, getting it ready to head to Burkhart Chassis for a moly 10 point. Currently ive relocated the fuse boxes under the dash next to the PCM. That was a real son of a *****!! About to paint under the engine bay which should be equally fun. I will do my best to keep the thread updated.

What ended my season

Time to upgrade Yoke

Relocation fuse boxes

Thanks guys. yea she was turned up alright. Just never could get a real clean pass. But the trap speeds reassured me the power was there. Just some slight tweaks with compression, a few more cubes, better heads, and a cam speced out to me. I havent forgotten about you martin!!! Im trying to get the cage first.

Man i would love to!!!! But with what im hearing unless your **** goes 7s then dont bother. haha. I will be there to watch though no doubt!!

Here are some pics of the LS9 heads. I know there stock heads, but they are supposed to be king dingaling of all that is stock heads. Plus i really really wanted to experiment with a better flow rectangular port head.

Has anybody cut a set of these heads apart and measured deck thickness or know what it is? How much were they?

weighed 3050 on the scales. 3225 raceweight.

I got them from a member on another page. got them for a good deal because they are slightly used (500 miles). Can get them new from GM for around 1000 a piece fully assembled. I wasnt to worried about the thickness as my 317s held fine with almost 30psi on LS9 gaskets and the 1/2 studs. And these LS9s are thicker, and made of a better material.

Yeah, I didn't really think it would be an issue, was just curious if they were considerably beefier.
