2010 L99 SS vs 2007 BMW M6 (3 vids)
A buddy of mine just picked this M6 BMW up and wanted to dyno it and see what it made. I think its stock, it made 451.6 rwhp@ 8100 rpm. I thought it'd be cool to run em since Ive never even sat in one so we hit the road course to make some pulls.
My mods in sig, basically cam, bolt on, on e85 and on the stock pirellis and 20's, full weight......no passenger
BMW stock i think with a passenger
First 2 I hooked good, last run I spun bad, and short shifted into 3rd.

I always have had the stockers on besides at the track. I talked to the owner afterwards and he wants me to order him a set of long tubes and air induction setup. The longtubes are about 3000 alone....lmao. He said it had something to allow it to go over 155, I dont know much about that car and he just bought it as it sits. Although at 451 rwhp, it likely isnt stock because it makes about 500 at the flywheel, so that would be about 420's to 430's I'd think. I dunno, it was fun though, havent stretched the legs on the el camaro like that in a while. In the first vid once they roll the window up while Im out about a bus length you can hear my car hit 5th which is at 149, then we were in it for a while after that.

Pretty good from what I've seen. The only place I have seen an issue is with certain valve springs. Over a certain pressure on the spring and the cam phaser has problems controlling the phasing. I run Beehives on mine, but my cam is only a .598/.607 lift. Even Masts next cam up from mine, which is 236/250 is only a .603/.618 lift.

You got some crazy down low torque though don't you?
I'm running .610/.623 lift off a 223/239
Thing sucks down low but once you hit about 3500-4000rpm it feels like you got kicked in the ***.

Meh.
I didn't understand them very much and I am very hesitant to put something on my car I don't understand. But I have been seeing some promising VVT results especially when compared to other cam-only 5th gens.
Do you have any weight reduction? I bet if you dump exhaust, driveshaft, suspension, seats and put welds on you'll dip into the 10s.

10's are coming.
Next time at track I will be on e85, have different gears, have 4000 converter, cutouts, and maybe an underdrive pulley. I run at track with seats out, but I havent seen a measurable et difference as I ran 1/8th mile with and without them. It wont slow it down though...lol.
