Default LS1 Tech, Sierra Speed Shop needs your help!

Please click HERE to vote!! Poll is open!

Good evening LS1tech!

We are a new sponsor here, and I would like to first introduce myself, Kyle Higgins. I've owned several different LSx powered vehicles including a Z06, Z51, 98 Z28 M6, 00 Z28 A4, and a 00 SS M6. I have modified all to some extent, and had the luxury of working at facilities that specialized in such.

Now I have started my own venture, and I am starting with what I know. We have a huge selection of name brand parts, and while our catalog doesn't quite show it yet, we are adding new items as often as we can! If you don't see what you are looking for, simply ask!

The main purpose of creating this thread is to highlight what Sierra Speed Shop is capable of achieving. We have an engineer, a brilliant CNC machinist, and access to all sorts of high end equipment. This includes a full CNC shop, and fabrication department.

We are asking for your help to decide what will be Sierra Speed Shops first official product.

What item is the LSx community looking for the most? Please leave a response with what you are looking for. We will consider each, and if it does not fit our business model, we will explain why, and thank you for your input.

I look forward to working with you!
Kyle Higgins

Welcome, and what do you mean by "first official product?" Engine parts? Suspension? Novelty?

But I wish Koni made their coilover sets for F-Bodies. Only all around handling option we have is KW V3's and those carry a hefty pricetag.

We have the ability to design and manufacture engine parts. We may shy away from this for a little while considering the extreme cost of development. Our business plan is to eventually tap the hardcore racing market with in house designed products. This is down the road some ways.

We also have a very good local suspension manufacturer. If enough of the community is interested in developing a hardcore suspension system, we can engineer and develop it for the community. Once we get enough of a response from a couple of our sponsored website forums, we will likely create a poll of the top 3. Once the poll closes, we will look at the results and choose the top voted item.

We will only select items we know we can manufacture, big or small. We want to serve the community with top notch products keyed in for their application. To give you an idea of the manufacturing facility at our disposal, look here

Do you have pricing on 243/799 head port and polishing with a .650 dual valve spring setup? If so, what springs, what size valves I/E? What are the flow #'s? etc.

Unfortunately, we do not do any engine machine work or cylinder head work. We do how-ever offer Patriot heads, as well as RHS, and Edelbrock. We are currently working on a couple other of suppliers as well.

If you would like I could get you some prices and information on the heads listed above!

This is an item we are capable of manufacturing, how-ever, there is a ton of R&D involved with this particular product. If there is a huge demand how-ever, we can look further into cost and see if we can help you!

I think you should start with a true dual over the axle bolt on kit. Kooks currently has the only option to my knowledge and it's killer expensive.

I think an aluminized 2.75 kit would sell like crazy if you could keep it under 600 or close to it.

That's something we can look into. Not sure what the complications are. I do have access to a lift, and of course an f-body, so I will be sure to look into that. Perhaps Friday.

Thanks

+1 on the duels over the axel, but 3" would sell and perform better. As with most f-bodies owners who switch to duels they're looking to extract the most power. 3" is a must!

Another vote for an over-the-axle 3" true dual system.

Just talked to my welding, fab guy about the exhaust. We are going to look into it next week and throw a car on the rack.

Thanks!

Those duals will sell like hotcakes if the price is reasonable. Good luck with the business Kyle

Another vote for the true dual exhaust over axle. Kooks are great but the cost isn't worth it for me.

As others have mentioned, there really is no true dual over the axle at a decent price. 3" aluminized. Also a lot want single 4" that utilize Flowmaster merge. Something like a Mufflex exhaust or one where it's a single 4" with a cutout that can be spliced into a catback when you need to be quiet. Possibly even electric cutouts since a lot have problems with DMH.

Lower rear shock mounts for those not wanting to pull mustang ones at a junkyard or use the ones provided by Strange that adds strain to the shock

Or have people submit one-off small projects / cnc / brackets etc. I had some custom wheel fasteners that I designed cnc'd by a shop on another board, or some offset bumpstop relocation brackets I machined up for my car for example. Most racers need something custom or tweaked for their application.
