Dynamometer Results & Comparisons - Any new dyno numbers from 90mm LSX on 400ci+ strokers?

Just trying to see if theres any new dyno numbers for the 90mm LSX intake
from a LS6 intake? I am asking only for strokers LSX numbers
Still havent decided if I want to sell my LS6 intake to buy a 90mm LSX. With 410ci what do you think I could gain from a LS6 to LSX? From what I have seen so far I wouldnt think more then 10rwhp but I am hoping I am wrong

~10 rwhp for $800 is almost a bargain if you're already running a max-effort big inch stroker IMO. At that level, 10 rwhp is increasingly harder and harder to come by, all the easy and cheap boltons are gone. Look over at Corvette Forum, MTI had a 400+ inch motor gain 2x rwhp and 2x rwtq with the adition of the 90mm LSx/90mm TB.

I know what you mean
The only thing that bothers me about when Sponsor post up high dyno numbers is that there could of been a few things we might not know about that also helped?
The reason being they are sponsors and want to make money. Nothing wrong with that but it would be great to see non sponsors post some more dyno numbers.

My heads are from Jay at AS. He flowed a set of ported heads through an LS6 intake and then an LSx intake, and picked up something like 12cfm more through the heads with the LSx as compared to the LS6 intake. A set of heads that flow 350cfm is only as good as the LS6 intake that flows 320cfm. Shawn

Your heads flow 320 through the intake/...and for that matter...have you ever heard of anyone flowing 320 through either of these intakes...?
I think your looking at peak flow of about 300 through either intake...it also seems to me the LSX does not add much flow up top, mainly in the mids.

No, my point was, it is common knowledge that heads flow signifigantly less through an LS6 intake than when flowed without an intake at all. Jay measured a ~12cfm gain when his heads were flowed through an LSx versus an LS6, which proves to me that the LSx is better/more efficient/etc than the LS6. Anytime your head/intake combo flows more air, the potential is there to make more power, IMO.

I would like to see more real world results before I purchase. It seems to iffy at this point. Too many vendors getting TOTALLY different results. When the LS6 intake came out the results were pretty much the same across the board for everyone. This is not the case with the LSX..

Too broad of a statement....
Not true in our Brand New this week Absolute Stage 3 6.0 heads (2 sets arrived), where the LS6 flowed the same numbers at peak as the LSX, Jay recommended we upgrade from the Cartek ported intakes for the LSx'x and we did...all that was gained was some mid numbers if i understood him correctly. But thats our stage 3 6.0 heads, and not all heads are the same I suppose

OK...Brent at TEA got her tuned to a tee and running like a raped ape!
Gained 20 hp peak. Now making 501rwhp with FAST 90mm manifold and FAST 90mm TB. Torque didn't pick up much, like 5-6 ft lbs. Gains came in from 4500 rpms and up. No dyno tricks, serpentine belt on, stock rocker arms. Funky Flowmaster 3" catback with 3" cutout open. Car made 475rwhp through the capped up catback. Small cam .579 lift 236 dur 114 lsa. We were very pleased.
Sean at SMC performance built the 402 iron block engine and TEA did the killer heads. Kooks headers and y-pipe.
Car is very fun and very streetable.

In other words the Cartek ported LS6 intake flowed the same peak numbers as the LSX? LSX would out flowed a unported LS6 intake on peak numbers right?
Could you share the flow numbers with the LSX and heads?
Thanks

Stage III 6.0 liter, 2.08/1.60 valves. They flowed 320cfm at .600 lift. I'll try to get some dyno graphs posted soon. LS6 intake highest numbers vs LSX 90mm highest numbers capped and uncapped.

ThanksAccording to Jay, the LSX did not flow any more (up top) than the stock ls6 with this particular 6.0 head set up if I understood him clearly. Keep in mind this is his stage 3 head w/ 2.08s. Evidently he continued to play with the heads a bit by sinking the valves further in etc . I dont know what the final outcome was as the info I got was unclear and not documented.
What I can state as a fact is this: The head flow was decent and he recommended the LSX, we got the LSX overnighted to him and he said it was no better up top, but better in the mids .... but at some point he said the heads flowed 297 through the intake. What I never understood was if that was the end result after some further head massaging or was he getting those "high" numbers through the stock intake too, as stated earlier.
I'd rather let Cartek or Jay address the flow capabilities of their intake vs. a stock intake.

To take advantage of the 90mm tb and intake do you guys think theres a better maf/lid then the slp 85mm and TSP 85mm lid? From what I know there not a 90mm of either yet.

APE for the foundation on wich this beast was built.
Absolute speed for the S3 6.0 liter heads.
Eastside for thier ability to tune my 90mm setup and reach my goal of 500.
The actual HP #'s were 518 RWHP and 497 TQ. Thanks alot guys I couldnt be happier. :D

Damn they sure are and they told me its a 92mm but you can also get a 90mm. After you spend $450 for the maf you need to pay another $200 for the maf tuner :bs:

If timing works out, I plan on dynoing my 418 with an LS6 intake vs. the LSX/90 setup. I am sick of hearing all the speculation! Many well reputed people that I deal with have seen a increases on 400+ ci motors from 15-30 RWHP.

Had there been more time in the day and an interest by the shop we could have done this. If the shop is interested, we can probably arrange it when we go down for the N2O tune/dyno.
Something to chew on ...We can change it out in less than 45 minutes.
