Default 1987 silverado 4x4

I have a 1987 silverado 4x4 350/700R4 that I would like to put a 5.3, 5.7, 6.0, or 6.2 with a 4l60e or 4l80e in. My biggest concern is getting a transfer case to work with this combo. Is there a transfer case that will bolt up to one of these tranys with the front drive shaft on the passenger side? Im also not sure what I would need to do to make the speedometer work depending the combination I need to use. If anyone know what will or will not work I would really appreciate any info.

I did a 5.3/4L80e swap into my '86 K5 about a year ago, it was still a 4x4 at that time.

"I had to find another NP208c with a 32 spline input shaft to mate up to the 4L80e since the first year 4L80e was 1991 and the last year for the NP208c was 1987 (at least with GM). I had to knock out an inch from the rear driveshaft, but the front will work."

Thanks a lot. I want to do exactly the same thing to my truck. What year of trans and transfer case do I need or is it possible to just have a different input shaft put in my 208. If I have to change it would it be better to go with a 241? Will any transfer case with the 32 spliine input work or are the adapter housing bolt patterns different?

Any NP208c or NP241c (passenger side drop) that was originally behind a TH400 or SM465 will work.

You can reuse your existing NP208c if you have the front input changed.
