Default A body th400??

why can't I seem to find anybody running turbo 400's in there A body swaps? Is there some reason I'm overlooking?

Yes, most people doing swaps want to optimize fuel economy and are going with overdrives. If overdrive is not a concern, a TH400 will work fine. The hardcore drag guys go with them all the time.

^ That. For a daily driver there isn't a compelling reason to stick with a 3 speed auto.

Thanks for the replies guys. I just wanted to make sure I wasn't overlooking something. Makes sense trying to get best mileage. I have a fresh 400 that I will run unless I run across someone with a 4l60 or 80 that wants to trade.

If drag racing the th400 would be much better. Cheaper to build, stronger, and not such a steep drop between 1st and second. If you ever want an overdrive, bolt up a gear vendor and be done. Pricey, but bulletproof

I ran a th400 behind my lq4 for a year. now im going t56.
