Default Help my troubleshoot p0011 cam over advance on vvt

So A little back ground on the set up. I installed a VVT cam in the spring and had no problems other then it was to big for my setup. So in July I swapped out the cam with a smaller vvt cam and installed a phaser limiter.

Well lining up the pin on the cam (if anyone has done this knows its a bit tricky on vvt) I miss the locating hole on the phaser. Doing some hand turning to check clearances the piston hit a valve because the phaser was spinning on the cam. The cam pin grooved the inside of the phaser a bit and I was in a bind so I used a thin layer of RTV to fill the groove so it would seal up.

I put the truck back together and the P0011 code showed up. I figured the RTV didn't work and oil was not flowing correctly between the to oil galleys causing the over advanced. The truck has ran fine for several thousand miles other then having to clear the code.

Well I got tired of clearing the code so I bought a new phaser and a new bolt valve, pulled the timing cover off to replace the messed up pieces. After putting it back together I am still getting the same code? I was very careful when installing the cam gear and the triangle on the cam lines up with the crank dot. I need some suggestions, Not sure if I should change the cam sensor but the truck runs fine. Also the code comes on at varying times 1 mile or 10 miles and is never consistent.

ecm is commanding too much cam advance and it's hitting the limiting block. back down the cam advance in the tune. it will do away.

Area47 That makes perfect sense and it's so simple not sure why I didnt think about that. I have to send my PCM in since I and doing a gear swap next week. I will have the tuner check the VVT table and adjust accordingly. Any one have a successful VVT table that I could send for an aftermarket cam?
