Default new LS1 owner and need suggestions please.

I bought an 02 TA WS6 with 29,000 miles on it. Its my daily driver and Ive been doing research on some LT headers and ORY. I have my exhaust cut-off at the Y-pipe and have a down pipe welded to it. Its pretty loud but I want it a ton louder. Im stuck on getting the pacesetter LT headers and ORY and I was just wonering if that would be best "bang for your buck" or if I should go with other brands.

THANK YOU!

/\ I agree with bestlude and garygnu.

I have a 98 TA and looking to purchase Pacesetter or TSP LT headers and an ORY to go with my SLP LM 1 exhaust.

Whichever brand you choose, just purchase the 1 7/8" headers, not the 1 3/4".

Best budget setup for flow and sound, IMO, is Pacesetter LTs, ORY, TSP rumbler catback.

Texas Speed 1 7/8" Headers with TSP duals. If you're set on having exhaust tips, then get the stainless ORY

X4 ^^ on the the tsp 1-7/8" headers. I'd also put a cam in it, that will make it noticeably louder.

If you want it a TON louder, and don't care about rasp and tone, then yes the Pacesetter long tubes, ORY, and SLP LM 1 resonator is what I run, and it's retarded loud lol. I don't like it personally lol

If you really want it "a ton louder", then I disagree with the idea of an ORY or any sort of catback or mufflers or resonators. For the most volume possibile, go with open headers or turndowns right off the headers. No catback, ORY nor true duals could possibily be louder. If it's still not loud enough, then consider an aftermarket cam, heads with bigger valves, and a boost in compression.

Im gonne eventually get cams and gears but not yet. What gears would be best for me because its my daily driver, I hardly go on the freeway and I going for best ET in 1/4 Mile. Also should i just go with really big cams or just a little upgrade?

sorry for all the questions, ive been an import guy my whole life till i bought my TA 2 months ago...

Read all you can. Everything and anything you need to know is on this site.

LS1 only has one cam. If you're an A4 get 3.73's and an M6 get 4.11's

Let the motor inhale and exhale freely before you get into the motor.

Free Mods (search)
SLP lid
You already have an LS6 intake manifold
Get your stock throttle body ported,
1 7/8" TSP stainless headers and whatever Y/catback or TSP duals.

Then come back and ask about gears and cam and what-not. Don't put the carriage before the horse. And again, seach this site! Just click and read. There's an insane amount of knowledge on this site. Search function sucks you say? Go to Google and type whatever you want and just end it with LS1Tech.
