Default Thoughts on a potential 30th Anniversary "tribute"

Good morning all. I have been making some plans regarding mods for the upcoming year, and I have been wrestling with the thought of putting some 30th anniversary stripes on my '01 Arctic White WS6 and creating a sort of "tribute" car. I have always wanted a 30th Anniversary car, and buying the white '01 was my compromise. As you can see, I already added navy blue metallic black bird stripes to accomplish the vintage white/blue color scheme.

My inspiration was this article I read in HPP...
http://www.highperformancepontiac.co...ntiac_formula/

...and the car from this site (notice the TTII's on his car, I think its a great combo)
http://www.motortopia.com/cars/1999-...ail1.jpg-92849

What are your thoughts/opinions? Should I leave well enough alone? Is it stupid to do a "tribute" on such a late model car? Here is a current shot of the car, as it sits now. BTW, it will be lowered before spring.

I think it looks good the way it is, I would just add a blue overlay on the front bird.

I say do whatever makes you smile when you look at it man. I think either way its a badass ride so you cannot lose. Blue overlay on the front would be nice too.

Since I added the concept dart to the nose (you can see it in the first pic,) I have been reluctant to add anything else to the front, for worry of it looking too gaudy.

I have been thinking about doing satin black door and quarter feathers with a 70s style hood bird on my black TA for a little while. I say go for it!

I would blue anodize the center of your wheels and leave the lip polished.

fourth circle designs is the website i just bought the decal set from for the door, and bumpers lettering. I have a NBM ta and am planning on eventual reverse 30th tribute. on fleabay ive seen the stripes for 300 and a painters template for like 250$. fourth circle has the whole 30th kit for $100, that is my go to after i figure out if the stripes will cover the ugly clear coat peel on my hood.

so my bias says do it and you can get the stripes inexpensively in vinyl. its the go to if you are unsure on it. remember its your car not some random forum users
ps. blackbird wingtips would go rather nicely with those small ram air stripes, if you prefer to stay subdued

DO IT!!! sounds like your talking about me here! I bought mine because I wanted a 30th TA but couldn't afford the price of one 5 years ago. Ive thought about doing the same thing with mine also.

Thanks Cape...our cars are unofficial "brothers" on here...yours being the big brother. I wonder if Fourth Circle can do two color stripes ala the actual 30th stripes...

I would do the wheels like stated in a couple posts above this and call it a day. Oh yea the overlays on the bumper would look good too!

Would it be better to paint or anodize the wheels? Or powder coat?

Checking in with another fan of the 30th's, and also an owner of a 2002 AW WS6, I wanted to do the 30th "clone" on my wifes but she for some odd reason, didn't like the blue and its her fav color????!!? strange right, so I was thinking of doing the same thing but in red... so far I just have black pontiac filler and red trans am decals over the factorys.....but red annodized wheels is something ive been playing with...

Pick out a VERY experienced body man and have him spray a light coat of blue on the wheels where the polished finish still shines through. That's how they were done from gm and that's how I would do it if I ever come across a set of 98-02 ws6 wheels. My stripes came from 4th circle, but I don't like how theirs don't have the 2 tone factory look. Phoenix graphix sells genuine looking 30th anniversary stripes but they are around $300 for a set.

Alright, here is a quick PS of a pic with blue centers on the wheels...
