Yep....crate ls6 actually. There has been quicker ls6's. My 10bolt busts a axle eveytime I really get after the launch. I do have the best mph of the ones i know of, but it could come down a bit with a better launch.

i ran 109mph in the 1/8th mile at 3800+ pounds. should be around 700 rwhp. and that 109mph run was only using about 580 feet , ran the rest of the 1/8th mile out on the rev limiter (well before the first timing box at the end). et is only 6.92... hard to hook up small tires and power at this track.

im building a forged 5.3 and plan to use the ls6 cam in that as well shooting for 800 rwhp and 115mph in the 1/8th mile

We have had these three different cars with the two different styles of Z06(LS6) cams make great power.

The Turbo Fairmont ----01 Z06 cam went 9.49 @ 3150lbs LM7 5.3

Mike's mustang --------01 Z06 cam went 8.98 @ 3400lbs LQ4 6.0

My Twinturbo wagon --02 Z06 cam went 10.0 @ 3850lbs (with old 6.0 LQ4)

Switched to an L33 in the Wagon, then made 800.8 RWHP at 18 lbs boost. Reusing the Z06 cam from the previous 6.0 build.

Could we have a better cam in there??? Probably. But we push these engines till they break, and so there is a good chance the cam could get really screwed up in the process. And has before. If I can get a cam like this cheap, and it works, why not.

Just,So I can run the same power at less boost????

I don't care how high the boost is, I only care about the power we are making. I am from the "old school" buick TR world, and the fun isn't starting with those till above 30 lbs, high boost numbers don't bother me, and with many of the turbos we run, the compressor maps indicate high boost is needed to get the output from those without them overspeeding.

Jim had a cam speced by Patrick G in his G8,and it definately sounded better than the LS6 cams we have been using, and it worked well. Does Pat G still do that around here?

That is one thing about the LS6 cam, it doesn't sound that good at idle, and that really helped our "sleeper" fairmont. But doesn't fit the look of my Wagon, or Mikes mustang. Small trade off for me.

What sucks is these LS6 cams use to be easy to find, but are now much harder. And I am not sold on the LS9 cam yet. All tho the gen4 pullout cams are more atractive to me, now with the Microsquirt being able to run an LS engine strickly off the crankshaft wheel(no cam input needed)

I'm sure everyone has seen the videos of the Fairmont,Mike's 8 sec run, and the 800 hp dyno vid of the NovaWagon, so I won't post them here.
