Default gear driven?

So just wanted to get some input I'm bout to do a tsp 228r cam swap and was curious bout how good or bad it is to switch to gear driven timing instead of a chain any info helps thanks guys.

if you run a gear system you cant use knock sensors

Not that I know anything but I've never seen a gear drive for an LS motor.

You can't run knock sensors and I have seen some gear drive kits rob a good amount of hp.
