Hi, my name is George and i'm from California, for the longest time I have been researching and planning on getting a early 70's 240z and doing an engine swap. But because it is pre smog I never bothered researching or studying up on getting it BAR'D. But being a 20 yr old College student, buying another car doesn't seem like a viable option. So instead I started thinking about my 1990 300zx NA auto that has been sitting in my dad's shop (He is a mechanic and owns his own garage). After doing a bit of research I stumbled across information about dropping a LS1/T-56 into the Z.

So I began researching the swap and found that many have done this swap. I have found may threads of people who have cut out and modified the firewall and even one or two who have just dented the firewall to make room for the t56.

Im not here to have you guys to research the build for me. I am just curious if you can give me a list of all that is required from the donor car to get it BAR'D.

Now I know the swap has to be from a car the same year or newer, has to be a USDM motor, has to be from the same class, and has to have all the smog related parts. But if I get a complete list of what is required that would make it a little (actually a lot easier on me). I plan on contacting a local ref and talk to him/her about the swap but I do not want to contact him and ask him to list everything or possibly not be able to get an usable information from him. If I already have a list of what is needed than I can run it by him/her and make sure i'm not missing anything.

Now before I get flamed for not researching, let me just say I have searched the internet and these forums but getting it BAR'D is not a topic that has plentiful info available.
