Im doing the Heads and cam on my camaro, and i have two timing sets. One is a Cloyes hex-a-just single roller, and the other one is a Rollmaster double roller. Which one do you guys recommend using. The motor will be turning ~7k and around 650-700hp on the spray. thanks

Rollmaster double roller will be better at that HP.

I agree.....Rollmaster, my motor makes around 490 and I use the single version with the factory chain guide and it has performed great! It's nice stuff.

The problem with the rollmaster is that its a double roller and i hear i might run into problems with pick up tube alingment

That's because you'll have to run spacers. If you grind the oil pump, you won't have to use the spacers (and you'll probably have to grind either way). The only way around the grinding is I think the Synergy ported LS6 and SLP pump. Both are pre-clearanced for double rollers.

What does the HP level have to do with single or double roller chain?
The Cloyes Hex Adjust uses an IWIS chain, very good stuff. It also forces you to degree the cam, which is a good idea.

I'm ussualy a fan of C5R single chains. Don't know for sure what the single roller you listed usses for a chain.

My motor is at 1k rwhp so far and we run a single no problem to 7400rpm and heavy springs.

Cloyes has two levels of chain... the LS2 and the C5-R. If it's over $250, it's the C5-R. Cloyes charges like $110 for their sprockets/gears.

The Rollmaster, if the Gold Series, has a pre-stretcched IWIS chain and nitrited gears (both crank and cam). So it's a damn fine piece for the price ~ $135.

Yeah... but just degree the cam. Especially if it's Comp. The grind is probably off from the cam card. Degreeing will take that mystery off the table...

I have never degree a cam before. Do you know of a good write up about it, and a good cam degree kit? thanks also, can i degree the cam with the block in the car? thanks

And they have a degree wheel kit. It's expensive, though. I don't know if it's worth it to buy just for one cam install.

But you can install it dot to dot with both of those timing sets.

With the Cloyes Hex Adjust, you are taking a risk as to whether or not it is actually set to 0 when it says 0 on the adjustment.

Although mine came out right on w/o tweaking it. Lucky maybe?

I chose the Cloyes true roller becauseI have used them in the past on my rat motor stuff. It is good quality and the chain isn't sloppy like the LS2 chain is.

Perhaps they make a non-adjustable true roller single chain set? I'm not sure, but you can check.
