Default 4.8 ...... mti c1 hammer cam

222/222 .562 .562 112 ls (think that's what the lobe separation was anyway)

I bought this cam for a future 6.0 or 5.3 build up or just to collect dust in my closet. I was weary of sticking it in the 4.8 cause I was wanting this motor to be a strong bottem end torque to drive to work , drive few miles to the track and run index and drive home and very mild mannered.

Out of debating and bsing sakes. what I could figure out if I did shuve this cam in what would be my shift points. I was figuring around 6900-7200. And a severe loss of low end torque . which probley could be fixed with the bottle. Ive been tempted to do it cause the stock cam just sounds so blah.
I was really hoping to come across a trickflow 216 220 .560 .560 or a 212 216 comp cam used but that hasn't happen yet.

Heres the combo.

01 4.8 bone stock
the c1 hammer cam.
heads portmatched to speed tiggers old rpm performer ls1 intake.
600 edelbrock till I can find a decent 750 hp dp.
bbk 1 3/4 3 inch collect mustang ls1 hacked headers.

90 mustang hatch.
guestimate 3150 ( I need weight reduction ... not the car)
turbo 400 with 10 inch ptc 4500 converter
4:30 gears.
28x9 mt slicks (actually measure 27.3 tall)

anybody ever ran anything like this in a 4.8?

I wouldn't think that cam would be too big especially since you have those digger gears and big converter...also the rpm intake should be good for street driving, def better than a Vic jr would run..only one way to find out...try it!

Should run alright, and that 600 carb should be enough.

I'll be using a torquer v2 in my 4.8. I'd think you'd be fine.

LOL digger gears. We run 8th miles heads up on a index. Only way to win is gears and stall. Which it will be a nitrous ptc 10 inch so im sure it will be somewhat tight. I guess ill just give it a whirl . Hopefully it has some ***** lol.
