LS Newbie.. Is this worth buying?
I'm new to the LS world, but after seeing the success everybody has had with them, I want to jump on board, lol.
I'm wanting to do an LS/Mustang swap, and here is my question.
I found a totaled 2005 Chevy 3500 van 6.0 with 52k miles on it. I can purchase the complete engine, trans, accessories, computer, harness, etc, for $1500. Is that a decent deal? Which 6.0l would this be, and is it a good candidate for my swap purposes?
As an FYI, I also already have a complete drivetrain from a 2008 G8, but it is slated for another swap. Beyond the aluminum block, I was trying to find out what the other differences between them are.
Thanks in advance for your help

Thanks. Which 6.0 would this be? (designation) Trying to figure out which heads it has , etc. Like I said, LS's are new to me, with the exception of my wifes 2009 G8, and the 2008 G8 drivetrain I already have.

I'm sorry, I must have missed something. I didn't see a reference to the G8 engine as a LS2. Like I said, I knew what it was, my wife's 2009 G8 is what turned my interest in the first place, so when the wrecked '08 came along I snatched it up to use in a street rod project. I just was not certain which 6.0 was in the van, and how much different it was from the G8 engine.
