Should I buy this 2002 TA ?
I went and looked at this car today and wanted to know your guys' thoughs. The car was super clean!!! no dents, rust, paint fade, or interior damage.
What would you pay for it? what would be a good price to pick it up at?

Here are a few others in my area too:

Out of those 3 i'd go with the blue ws6. Something seems off about the first one to me, but i can't go see it in person to decide. Why would you only have 100 miles on a built trans and decide to sell the car?
The second one for 10-12k would be a good buy. The third one is over priced in my eyes

His story behind is that he bought if off a guy with the trans not working, so he took it to the shop where it was rebuilt before it got blown up. he( the seller ) paid for the parts and they warranty'd the labor. He says he is out of a job and is going back to what he did before he got laid off was flipping cars. He had a camaro z28 in his driveway and a nice 02 ta in the garage. the car was clean, engine was spotless, it even smelled new haha. But idk... Thanks for your thoughts, I am going to go take a peak at the ws6 sometime soon

This probably will be moved to the 'What's It Worth' section but in the meantime I would be very leery about this car. The price is definitely in-line with a regular 'stock' T/A with this mileage and in 'good' condition. However, if I am reading the ad correctly the a/c and other things no longer work or have been deleted. That's a negative when selling a car. You may not care personally but it certainly affects the price. The seller has eliminatd a huge chunk of the buyer's market by taking these actions and with the mods he has installed. I would ask many questions about why he is selling, especially after investing some serious money within the last 100 miles (he stated it in the ad). If any of the mod or repair work wasn't done right, this could be a huge 'money pit'. Also, his 'super low miles' statement is moot for a modded car, especially if driven 1/4 mile at a time. Serious homework would have to be done before buying this car. Any car on CL is another negative in my book. Clear title?? Too cheap to spend $40 for an Autotrader ad?? Who knows. This car could be a decent car but you better be real careful. In my opinion, this car is priced $2,000 too high even if everything checks out. It is going to be a bear to sell with so many items deleted. You would be in the same boat if you bought it and needed to sell. Trade-in value might be $10,000. Maybe! Have you run a Carfax yet? Any issues? That would be step #1 if you are serious about the car. Best of luck!

Seller stories definitely need to be taken with a grain of salt. There are definitely good deals out there, but you do need to be smart when buying. Be sure to listen to what the seller says and listen for discrepencies. Just use common sense. But everyone else seems to agree the blue WS6 seems the safest route.

Thanks guys for your thoughts! Ill be looking at the blue one tomorrow hopefully. Now when looking at these cars is there anything that is commonly flawed? such as ball joints/trans/rear end/ common rust spots? Ill be doing some more research on it but wanted to know what/if anything I should look at in particular.
Thanks again!!
Thanks again!!

The blue WS6 looks like the best bet, there is something to be said for buying a car that has not been "modified" so you know what you are getting. Plus gotta love the WS6 speedlines...

So I went and looked at the blue WS6 Today and everything looked in good order. the front right fog light was out and had a crack in the lens, the right rear reverse light had condensation in it, little rust under the hood but not too bad, seemed like the left rear hub bearing was howling too, and the turn signal was going erratically. Other than those things everything came back good.
I talked to they guy who own the repair shop that I looked at it at and he said he got it from an auction. That makes me skeptical on the history of the car...
