Default GTO fuel rail covers on 70 Chevelle issue

I am currently doing an LS1 swap in a 70 Chevelle. I would like to use the fuel rail covers off the GTO that came with the LS1 but it looks like the brake booster is in the way. Is ther a smaller brake booster I can use? Or any way to solve this issue without cutting the fuel rail cover??? Help please. If you resolved this problem allready please post pics.
Thank you,
Alaninin

It is the original. I think it is 12 inches.

Smaller boosters don't work as well as the original. I wouldn't give up good brakes for looks alone. A hydroboost would probably take up less space, but will cost more and is more complex. I would trim the cover a little bit if it were mine.

This is a problem depending on how and where you mount your engine. Yes, Setback, higher and/or to the Driver side. It will be come a problem.

Yes you can go to a smaller Booster, but as ls1nova71 stated, they don't always work too well.. some do, some don't. You can also try using the small Double Diaphragm booster (7" or 8" ones).

Many of the vendors (CPP, Master Brakes, etc) that offer brake parts should be able to help you select one that might work best. Also many of the Repo stores carry update and conversion one (Year One, OPIG, Ground Up, etc). but remember to make sure all of the parts are designed to fit together as well as the master and P-Valve.

I have the Vette covers on my Chevelle with a standard booster, engine set back as far as I could take it. The two are just touching.. I am planning on taking the covers, grind, sand down, cut as needed for releif and paint them.. you might try the same.

I will have to check if the repo ones are any smaller. I don't plan to sacrifice braking power for looks but there must be a way to get both.

I ended up taking a dremel to it and grinding off the small part that touched and repainted. You can't tell I even touched it. Thanks for all the ideas.

I think you made the right decision, and it didn't cost anything. Win-win!
